A quick overview of roof safety solutions

In the building and construction industry, health and safety is paramount. So, it doesn’t matter if a structure is two or fifty storeys tall – robust fall protection mechanisms need to be in place to keep everyone secure when they’re working at height.

We therefore offer comprehensive design, installation, inspection, certification & testing and maintenance services for both temporary and permanent fall protection equipment, in line with British and European standards.

Having worked with facilities managers, construction firms and property owners throughout the UK, every job is different. But the priority is always to ensure a safe environment for our clients’ employees, with no stone left unturned.

Some frequently asked questions

It’s impossible to answer that question without understanding the nature of your building/structure, the level of access required and the risks specific to this environment. This is certainly not a case of ‘one size fits all’.

A survey will help to determine the best-fit equipment, design and installation for your site.

This depends on a variety of factors including the nature of the fall protection technology, the integrity of its initial design, the age of the system and its condition/upkeep to date. An initial survey will help to provide an overall status report from which next-step actions can be recommended. Often annual certification inspections are all that are required to ensure the fall protection remains safe and compliant, but in other instances, more frequent inspections are necessary. Once an inspection is carried out, any repairs required will be flagged.
These regulations cover all aspects of working at height, from planning and risk assessments to the design and maintenance of safety systems. They detail when collective and personal safeguards need to be installed, when rope access can be used and how equipment inspections should be recorded. As a competent contractor for fall protection systems, we know this legislation inside out, but clients and anyone else involved in the use of fall protection systems should also be familiar with the rules.

Maintenance & inspections

Routine & efficiency

Inspections, testing & certification

With a wealth of experience in the work-at-height sector, our fully-trained technicians are often called upon to act as the ‘competent person’ for testing and inspection work, in line with British Standards. We will assess the integrity of your fall protection and fall arrest systems, before recommending repairs, system redesigns, refurbishments and upgrade works, if required. Training can also be provided for your own employees.

But the key thing to note is that the access requirements, risks and dimensions are different from site to site. Our fall protection specialists will therefore treat each job as unique, before recommending the action and/or technology that is right for the environment at hand.

Routine maintenance regimes

Our height experts are fully qualified to conduct planned preventative maintenance regimes on an array of fall protection systems. So, if you need more than one-off support, we can devise a contract tailored to your needs. This will ensure the ongoing safety and compliance of your fall protection equipment, without blowing your building maintenance budget.

All of our work is logged for easy access via our Acqudo© cloud reporting tool. This same proactive technology also alerts clients ahead of their next inspection dates, so that maintenance schedules never fall behind.
