Clean, paint and rope access maintenance of various structures within the Fantasy Island Theme Park at Skegness.
Using rope access techniques, Access North’s team of technicians climbed the pyramid’s interior lattice steelwork, to systematically clean and repaint the structure. The works included installation of temporary drape sheets to protect the interior, a deep clean of all of the steel and the preparation, cleaning, repainting of all windows, along with the replacement of the interior light bulbs.
The pyramid’s exterior glazing and steel architecture was also given a thorough clean followed by a repaint, to give the theme park a thorough refresh, which sets a great first impression for visitors.
Additionally, the team went on to give the park’s 167ft high inverted roller coaster, The Odyssey, a thorough clean followed by the installation of new bird deterrent systems to ensure the roller coaster remains clean and safe.
Working so close to the sea during the winter months made the job particularly challenging. The team naturally had to accommodate the complexities that coastal weather conditions added to the project.
